We are always thrilled to shoot a Bonnet Island Estate Wedding! Not only is the property and grounds beautiful but the staff are wonderful to work with as well. It’s basically a photographer’s dream to have so many things come together so well! We met Allison and her mom almost two years ago during the planning process and we knew right away that we were going to love working with Allison, Andrew and their families. During their engagement session at the University of Pennsylvania (where Andrew and Allison met) it was also apparent that these two were totally smitten with each other!
When the big day came around, the weather couldn’t have been any more perfect – the sun was shining with puffy white clouds and a nice ocean breeze – really what more could you ask for?! As with most Bonnet weddings, we started with some getting ready photos of Allison and her girls in the bridal suite, while Andrew and his guys were hanging out just a floor below. The moments leading up to the First Look are always filled with so much anticipation but especially when everyone is in the same location and it’s buzzing with excitement! We love that we were able to create an intimate moment for the couple, while her mom and bridesmaids watched eagerly from the widow’s watch on the top floor. How cute are they waving out at Allison as she’s about to sneak up on her groom?!
As expected, the rest of the day went off without a hitch and the weather stayed absolutely ideal all the way through to the end of the night, when they were wisked away with a sparkler exit! Of course we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to steal them away for some sunset shots, which looked like they were plucked straight out of a romantic movie. As photographers, we crave these moments of intimacy between two people on their wedding day and they looked perfectly content. Needless to say, we’re so excited to share some of our favorite images from the day and wish a big congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs!
