We are thrilled to be sharing some our favorite images from a recent styled shoot at the beautiful Cairnwood Estate! As wedding photographers, it’s easy to fall into a routine and focus on the everyday busyness of running a business. So styled shoots are a wonderful opportunity to team up with industry friendors (friends + vendors) and put all our creative energy into one fabulous shoot. We’ve really learned the importance of this creative reprieve in all the shoots we planned this past year. And let us tell you, they are A LOT of work but in the end, totally worth it. And we really couldn’t have pulled this off without the time and effort of all the other talented people involved. Of course, we owe a lot to the incredibly kind folks over at the Cairnwood Estate for allowing us to take over their property for a day. We came in like a hurricane, ha! We will list all of the vendors involved below, be sure to give them a visit as well!
We first came up with the idea of this shoot because we had connected with a video team from France called Marie Marry Me (Eva + Martin) and they were coming over to the U.S. for a few months to work and collaborate. Just one month before this shoot, us Femina ladies were actually in France and worked with them on a wedding in Bordeaux as well. So this shoot was just one of a few opportunities to work alongside Eva and Martin, but this time it would be entirely creative! After returning from France, we linked up with Sue from Fresh Designs Florist and we were obviously already very inspired by French culture and vintage everything, but Sue also had the idea to incorporate a bit of Southern French country inspiration as well. So she thought up the color scheme and from there we really ran with it. We of course wanted to take advantage of the french inspired architecture and furnishings of the Estate, which tied in beautifully to the Southern France theme. That cheese “cake” tower and floral cascading chandelier are everything!
