You may remember Karen and Dan from their Philly Engagement session last fall. Well we had the privilege of shooting these two love birds again for their October wedding at Cairnwood Estate in Bryn Athyn, PA. There are few places that rival the elegance and beauty of Cairnwood Estate. It’s the kind of place that demands attention and the second you begin to drive up the long driveway and the Estate peeks into view, it takes your breath away!!
We started off the day shooting Karen getting ready in her parents home in Jamison, PA. Then we headed over to their church for the ceremony – and luckily the weather was holding out the entire time even though it was pretty overcast all day! Then the party continued on at Cairwood. The unique layout of the Estate offers a very different structure to the reception that we love! The guests are seated in each of the separate State rooms, with a different buffet option available in every room. Karen and Dan were introduced as Mr. + Mrs. as they ascended the grand staircase – also where the toasts took place and the guests are able to gather around for an intimate first dance. Then the dance floor was set up in the Estate library – some might say the bouquet toss was “rigged” with Maid of Honor (and Karen’s little sister, Kimmy) catching the bouquet. We’ll let the photographs tell the story and you can be the judge, ha. Although we can’t say we wouldn’t be thrilled if little sis was up next!
