Katie and Jake had the most fabulous New Year’s Eve wedding at The Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia. When you think of New Year’s Eve weddings, you think lively and entertaining and Katie and Jake were the happiest and most laid back couple we’ve had the pleasure of working with. As you can imagine, winter weddings come with their own set of challenges. Then add a holiday in the mix and you never know what you’re going to get! But luckily for us, these two took everything in stride. We planned to do a private first look on the grand stairwell of the Bellevue Hotel. If you’re familiar with the Bellevue, it’s an iconic spot for wedding photos, and for good reason! It was beautifully decorated with cascading florals and candles galore, the perfect spot for their first look. Since the weather was pretty mild for late December, we were able to take the couple and their wedding party down to City Hall for their photo session.
Their ceremony and reception took place in the Rose Garden Ballroom on the nineteenth floor of the Bellevue Hotel. If you haven’t visited the 19th floor you should definitely make a date night out of it. Located on the top floor is Restaurant XIX and balconies overlooking the city. Since it was a perfectly clear night, we took advantage of one of the balconies for some night shots with Philly in the background. They are some of our favorites shots of the day!!
