This Cairnwood Estate wedding was just perfect in every way and reminds us why we love this venue so much. Since we are a preferred vendor at Cairnwood, we have the privilege of working there pretty often and in the midst of this crazy time of COVID, shooting somewhere that feels familiar and “normal” is such a blessing. We just love everything about this gorgeous estate and everyone who works there! One of the best parts perhaps is the fact that each couple can dress it up as much as they want and make the space a reflection of their personalities. Melissa and James’ wedding was no exception! Every detail from the gorgeous cascading floral design on the grand staircase, to the little details like the foil printed napkins and customized wine bottles made their wedding exceptionally unique. In a nod to today’s climate, the guests’ chairs were spaced six feet apart during their outdoor ceremony, little bottles of hand sanitizer were placed on each table and you saw people walking around sporting masks. There is no doubt that getting married in the time of covid can be stressful for our couples, but Melissa and James (and their awesome planner Joanne) thought of every little detail to make their day not only special but safe for everyone. And one thing is for sure… Love Is Not Cancelled!!
Cairnwood is also an ideal space to have a covid-era wedding since they’re equipped with a tented terrace and the indoor space provides the perfect backdrop for getting ready photographs and couples portraits. We spent a good portion of the wedding day keeping our fingers crossed that the weather would hold out. While some storm clouds rolled in and out, we were so relieved that the rain held out until the start of the reception, allowing us to get all of those iconic Cairnwood photographs done before the skies opened up! We’re so thankful that Melissa and James were calm, cool and collected the entire day, not letting any potential hiccups get in the way of their pure joy and happiness. Which is very clearly evident in every smiling photograph from their wedding day. It’s an absolute honor working with such wonderful clients and we only wish them the best as they begin their new journey as husband and wife!!
