When Rebecca and Lyall first came to us about their Hyatt at the Bellevue Wedding, we were immediately smitten with them. Not only is Rebecca extremely kind and down to Earth, but she also shares our love for traveling. So we were even more excited to learn that her future hubby was from Scotland and they would be having a UK-US themed wedding (cue the red, white and blue!). There’s nothing that makes our hearts skip a beat more than hearing about a good ‘ole International love story. Her excitement and enthusiasm on the phone was just the beginning of a wonderful journey to saying “I Do”. We got to meet in person and learn all about her and Lyall (he’s a Squash instructor in King of Prussia – how fun!) and then we did their Engagement session in Old City Philadelphia (incorporating a bit of the patriotic theme!) before spending the day with them on the wedding. It’s truly an honor for us when we get to go along on this journey with our couples and really get to know them through this process.
Luckily, Rebecca and Lyall had the most perfect day in July for their big celebration. We started with some getting ready photographs at the Hyatt at the Bellevue, right on Broad Street in Philadelphia, before heading over to Tenth Presbyterian Church where they were to exchange vows. Then we hopped over to Rittenhouse Square for some bridal party photos before stealing the lovebirds away for some Bride & Groom photos. Of course we got the iconic Broad Street photo that any Philly wedding wouldn’t be complete without! The party continued in the grand ballroom at the Bellevue, with it’s wraparound balcony overlooking the dance floor (there’s nothing quite like it in Philadelphia – definitely a one-of-a-kind venue!). Our favorite part of the reception was that they incorporated some Scottish dances with an instructor to lead everyone through them. Everyone looked like they were having a blast – even those who seemed a bit confused and tried to follow along as best they could (that would be us too, ha!). Of course we couldn’t end the night without going outside for a few more night shots in front of City Hall!
We are so thrilled that these two finally got to tie the knot and we wish them so many wonderful memories together as they start their new life as a married couple! And of course, if we ever find ourselves across the pond together at the same time, I hope we can all share a pint in Scotland (and maybe some photos!). Congratulations you two!!
