Emmalyn + Vincent’s South of France wedding is about as quaint and traditional as it gets!! Noelle was thrilled to connect with Emmalyn through the Girls Love Travel France Chapter and after finding out that she was planning a small France ceremony around the same time that we would be in the area, we knew we just had to make it work with our travel schedule! Not long after, we found ourselves transported to a different world in the most charming little french village called Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey (Vincent’s hometown). The town is set atop the mountainous region an hour West of Nice and just a 20 minute drive from the popular perfume capital of the world, Grasse. And luckily for us, we were there at just the perfect time of year weather-wise, in the high 70’s during the day and 60’s at night – the ideal setting for an outdoor wedding celebration!
Since Emmalyn and Vincent were first married in the United States (where Emmalyn is from) they wanted to have a celebration for Vincent’s friends and family in France as well. So the day started with a more formal Town Hall ceremony performed by the Mayor of Saint-Vallier and then the bride and groom were escorted to the town Chapel with an entourage of guests and traditionally dressed musicians and dancers. We just loved this part of the ceremony, with locals honking as they drove by in homage to the happy couple! Then after an intimate ceremony at the Chapel led by Vincent’s father Roland, they were once again led out by their wedding entourage to a field behind the church overlooking the hillside for some group photos and dancing. Afterwards, we were able to steal the happy couple away for some photographs around town and in another town called Cabris. Mother nature was threatening rain throughout the day and although we caught a few raindrops during their portrait session, we couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque backdrop for their photographs!! We are so honored to have been a part of this special day and wish Emmalyn and Vincent so many wonderful years ahead as they continue their journey together as husband and wife!
