We had the pleasure of photographing Jess and Brian’s wedding at the newly renovated Notary Hotel in Philadelphia. It was a chilly start to the 2023 season but still exciting nonetheless! The Notary Hotel is nestled perfectly in the heart of Philly and its location provides the perfect backdrop for couples wanting an urban wedding. Surrounded by the iconic City Hall and the vibrant energy of Broad Street, there are so many photo opportunities. We started with some getting ready photos at the hotel and then did their first look right outside. The grand and beautiful corridor next to the hotel is the perfect spot for a more secluded first look.
Jess and Brian were so fun and were all smiles and laughter the entire day. Their ceremony was held right on location and the reception was held in the grand ballroom. The Notary Hotel is a historic hotel with a rich history. Which makes it the perfect location for a Philly wedding. Originally built in 1926 as the City Hall Annex, the building served various municipal functions for many years. In 2017, the hotel underwent a significant transformation and reopened as The Notary Hotel, part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott.
The hotel’s name pays homage to the notary public office that occupied the space for decades. The restoration aimed to preserve the building’s architectural heritage while infusing it with modern amenities and stylish design. The Notary Hotel has since become a luxurious destination in the heart of Philadelphia, offering a unique blend of history and contemporary elegance. We love that Brian and Jess chose this as their wedding venue and took advantage of the beautiful architecture for their day!
