If you’re ever looking to host an intimate wedding ceremony in NYC and are looking for a setting that is a little off the beaten path, the Alger House is a great choice. Mikoto + Harold’s Alger House wedding was perfection – and just what they needed to blend their two families and cultures for their wedding ceremony.
This couple’s wedding story is quite remarkable. Harold, originally from Canada and of Korean descent, met Mikoto, a Japanese beauty, while visiting Korea. They had both enrolled in language classes to brush up on their Korean, and it was love at first sight! Although Korean was neither of their native languages, it was the common language between them… and the only way of communicating. Harold recalls seeing Mikoto and instantly feeling overwhelmed by her beauty, and Mikoto by Harold’s charm. Following their initial meeting, the two kept in touch for over five years, occasionally visiting each other and catching up on their latest “life” stories. Eventually, Mikoto visited Harold in NYC and it was then that Harold knew she was the woman for him. His next trip was to Japan, where he proposed to his love and gained her family’s blessing. And this past March, both families gathered for their intimate Alger House wedding ceremony to celebrate their union. And we’re absolutely thrilled to be a part of their beautiful love story!
